Elective Home Education (EHE)
About our Service
All children of compulsory school age have a right to an education; however this does not have to take place in school. In England, the responsibility for a child’s education rests with their parents and they can choose to educate their children other than at school. Parents who choose to educate their children at home must be prepared to assume full financial responsibility, including the costs of any public examinations.
On this page you will find all the necessary information about Elective Home Education, however if you are thinking about home education (home schooling), or are already educating your child at home, please get in touch before you make a final decision.
We provide a range of information, drop in sessions and network events for home educating families.
