Sport Works Swimming and sports sessions for children and young people with additional needs

Who are we?

Sport Works supports children/young people with a range of disabilities including; Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Physical and Mental Learning Difficulties, Autism and Social Interaction Difficulties. Generally these children/young people enjoy sports and games but often have particular difficulties with balance, coordination, social and communication skills and often find it difficult to take part.

At Partington Sports Village we provide 2 hour weekly sessions for disabled young people aged 4-25 years. Each session will be split into 2 x 1 hour periods, 1 hour in the sports hall and 1 hour in the swimming pool.  We offer a range of physical activities designed to develop basic skills, increasing activity in a fun/social environment and ensure these young people receive individualised support within a non-threatening, inclusive environment.

We also attempt to reduce the burden on families who need to find activities for their children outside of education and allow young people to benefit from meeting new people and trying new things.
