Headcount Demonstration

We will be holding a short session on Thursday 30 September (1pm – 1.30pm) to demonstrate the headcount submission and answer any queries regarding submitting headcounts. This will be an informal session open to all providers who need to submit a headcount this term. There is no need to book a place, an email has been sent to all providers with more information including the joining link.

The Early Education Team will also be attending the Childminder Briefing on Monday 27 September to give a demonstration of submitting the autumn headcount form, any childminders who are unable to make this session are welcome to attend on 30 September.

Feel Good Early Years Offer 

Congratulations to Little Oaks and Banana Moon Altrincham who have completed their Wellbeing Reviews. They will now be able to access the next free training – a pre-recorded webinar about embedding the Leuven Scales in early year’s settings.

 

Feel Good EYs is a free offer of support to PVI settings in Trafford offering a range of resources and training materials around promoting positive social and emotional wellbeing in 0-5s.

BBC Tiny Happy People- How to prepare your child for childcare

Our Early Years Educational Psychologist, Dr Alison Gurney, has recently contributed to an article for the BBC’s Tiny Happy People campaign. It gives tips and advice for parents on the topic of their child starting childcare. Please share this with your families who have young children soon to start childcare.

Trafford SENCO's- Contact for families with disabled children

Trafford SENCO’s are you working with parents/carers of disabled children who are requiring some additional emotional support? Contact offer 1-1 telephone appointments with a family support adviser for parent carers looking for a listening ear, reassurance and practical and emotional support – Listening Ear.

 

You might be working with a family that is struggling emotionally and looking for strategies to help them cope. Or maybe they just need to talk to someone who understands the extra challenges they face and who can point them in the right direction to get the support they need for their family.  

10 Tips For Talking

Speech & Language in early years is a crucial part of Greater Manchester’s school readiness plan, as part of this 10 key messages for early language development have been developed along with a suite of resources to support parents, carers and professionals. This initiative will launch on Monday 27 September, look out for more information on social media where we will be sharing more information.

A question and answer drop-in session has been arranged each term for those new SENCOs that have already accessed the pre-recorded induction session. 

 

The first QA session is to be held on Wednesday 10 November, 1.00 – 2.00pm via Zoom.

SEND Local Offer- Virtual BiteSize Learning 

The SEND Local Offer includes all the services and organisations which are part of the support on offer for children and young people with Special Educational Needs or who are Disabled (SEND) in Trafford.  

 

Join us on Wednesday 29th September at 12.30pm for a 30 minute virtual learning session (via Teams) during which we will guide you through the Local Offer and demonstrate ways in which you can make use of the resource when working with families or young people.  Colleagues who work closely with children and young people with SEND and their families will find this session beneficial.
