Trafford Sensory Impairment Support Service (TSISS)

An enthusiastic, specialist, professional, service that support vulnerable children with sensory impairments (and their parents) throughout Trafford. They are always happy to help with advice and you can depend on them to answer your questions immediately, or find answers to your questions when needed. They treat the children they support with the dignity and respect they deserve and ensure their inclusion in their chosen school setting. Long may they carry on!

South Manchester Down Syndrome Support Group (SMDSSG)

Our first introduction to Down syndrome following the birth of our boy was through the SMDSSG.  They have been hugly supportive and knowledgable.  the training program is extensive and highly relevent. The Chatterbox club is where it all comes together with children and parents meeting, singing and having fun.  Definatly worth checking out.

Inclusive Nursery Project – Speech & Language

We now have a cheerful, happy and empathetic soon to be 4 year old grandson who sadly has had his last day at Kingsway Park Inclusive Nursery as we break up for Summer and he starts 'big' school in September. The transformation in his language communication, eye contact, empathy with those around him and understanding and acceptance of instruction after his just 15 hours a week for one school year has been truly remarkable, way beyond all the expectations of his family. We did not receive any negative comments during his time here, only encouragement and suggestions to allow him to progress and prosper. The professionalism, patience and expertise of the staff tasked to nurture our grandson, not forgetting their obvious love of their vocation, is beyond reproach. I'm sure it's a team effort and many people behind the scenes have allowed a culture of care, coupled with success to develop, but it is still down to individuals to deliver. With this in mind I hope it's alright to mention names; notably Amanda Green, Kathryn Leighton and Joanne Albert. You all deserve the greatest of thanks and hopefully the recognition of your peers. No doubt it will still be a roller coaster ride with our grandson as he grows up but you have given him the best possible start to his future. Heartfelt thanks to you all.

Ruzina Khanum

I would highly recommend Ruzina as a childminder.  Ruzina looks after my 2 year old son 3 days a week and does whatever she can to make my life easier.  I have 3 other children with my eldest having special needs.  When  things change with my other children as they often do, she is very flexible and will fit around me - this helps so much with the work commitments that I have also.  The food she makes is great according to my son!- he gets meals that he would never get to try at home.  The children all have good routines and always get out and about to playgroup or the park every day.  Ruzina is easy to talk to about any problems that you have and really cares about the well being of the children she looks after.

Speech and Language Therapy - Adults

Good stuff - This seems like a good service

St Mary’s Playgroup

(More reviews included on listing)

My daughter has been going to st Mary's since she was 2, she absolutely loves the creative play and is always coming home with pictures and models, the staff are very friendly and were extremely helpful in helping us get free funding for our daughter as she has a special need, I really feel this has been a great stepping stone to starting school nursery and feel confident in September that she will settle in with ease. They take regular pictures and keep a record of the children's progress which my husband and I love to look through every half term or so. The outside area is a great benefit to the Playgroup and I'm sure they will continue to make it better. My daughter loves the weekly dance lesson by a lady called Angela who comes in and am sure it has helped her confidence within the group. As the end of July nears closer I am getting more and more sad that she will be leaving to start school nursery, she has had an incredible year at st Mary's and an invaluable start to her education, thank you st Mary's for everything you have done x

Warrington Play & Sensory Centre

Loved the Centre, Great Staff and welcoming atmosphere. My kids loved it too! Would reccomend to anyone who has a child with addtional needs

Multi Sensory Environment (Bury)

My Sensability is a wonderful place! I have been going since my little boy (now 2.5yrs) was 9 weeks old and we still have an amazing time. We have fun playing, exploring and sometimes relaxing in the large sensory room with the lights, fibre optics, mirrors and toys. Since returning to work from mat. leave I have also taken my class of children with SEN and they have always enjoyed it and had positive experiences. I can't recommend it highly enough!

SENAS

I cannot rate the SENAS Team highly enough!! My little boy has been delayed with speach and language, and also struggles with social and communication skills, Pauline Moore came into our lifes back in 2014 and the rest is history :-). He was invited to spend his pre school nursery year in an inclusive nursery to help him with every day social and communication skills as well as speach and language, thats when we met the lovely Mandy Green.  Without Mandy's help, love, care and understanding (as well and mummy counciling skills!), my child wouldnt be the kind, newly well spoken little boy that he is turning into today,  I have no doubt, that without Mandy and the SENAS team's care and commitment to my little boy that  he would still be struggling with everyday life,  I just wish I could take Mandy Green through the school years!... so, to the SENAS team, thank you so much for supporting Harry and us through his pre school learning....
