Supported living

Supported living is usually provided for adults with learning disabilities. Usually a few people live together. Each person has their own bedroom. The people in the house share a kitchen and living space. The house is usually rented.

What support will I receive?

People living in supported accommodation may receive support 24 hours a day or just a few hours a week. The amount of support you will receive depends on your support plan. A support plan is completed when Trafford Council carry out an assessment of your needs.

How will I pay the rent?

Each person living in supported living has their own tenancy. Everyone who has a tenancy is responsible for paying the rent. You may be able to get some help with paying the rent. You may also be able to get help with paying Council Tax. You can apply for this help online, or pop in to your local library if you need help.

How do I find out more?

Supported living is usually arranged with help from the Council. This will mean you will need to have an assessment from Trafford Council adult social care.
