Meals and healthy eating

Meal services enable people to remain living independently at home if they struggle to shop for and prepare food due to physical or learning disabilities, sight or hearing loss, frailty or illness.

Some services provide frozen cooked meals which people can store and reheat as needed, other services provide hot cooked meals directly to the customer's home to be eaten straight away.

There are also lunch clubs across Trafford where people can get together for a cooked meal. Some also offer transport, or there may be other services you could use such as Ring and Ride or Local Link.

You might also be interested in social care assessments for information about support from Trafford Council Adult Social Care or information on paying for social care support.

Or find information on foodbanks and community food pantries who can provide groceries or other household essentials to people in need - you will usually need to be referred to the foodbank. Each foodbank can tell you more about this.
