A personal health budget is an amount of money to support a person's identified health and wellbeing needs, planned and agreed between the person and their local NHS team. The personal health budget toolkit provides lots of useful information about how personal health budgets work.
Continuing Care is the only area currently available as a personal budget for children up to the age of 18. Children and young people may receive a continuing care package if they have needs arising from disability, accident or illness that can't be met by existing universal or specialist services alone. See Children's Continuing Care Assessment.
Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is available for adults age 18 and over.
