Education Practitioner - Trafford Children's First Response
The Educational Practitioners' role in Trafford Children's First Response (formerly MARAT) is to be a point of contact or referral to Trafford Children's First Response from or about an education setting and offer advice, guidance and support to both the referrer and to Trafford Children's First Response to find appropriate ways forward to address the issue.
They support education based professionals in managing cases that do not meet the criteria for social care involvement and promote approaches that offer the right support at the right level. This could be when a setting could implement a CAF and offer early support or when Trafford Children's First Response should pursue assessment in partnership with the referring agency.
The Educational Practitioner liaises with education settings to gain education based information for Safeguarding Strategy meetings and act as a link between Trafford Children's First Response and education based professionals in respect of appropriate referrals, signposting, the promotion of Early Help, the role of the case coordinator and safeguarding matters.
