Trafford Council Welfare Rights Advice Line

About our service

Trafford Council's Welfare Rights Team will give you free, independent advice on how to claim benefits. They will help you understand which benefits you are entitled to claim and explain how you can appeal if you think decisions made about your benefits are not correct. This service includes confidential benefit checks for all the benefits listed.

  • Income Support
  • Housing Benefit
  • Council Tax Support
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Tax credits

To make sure you get the right advice, you will need to give some information about your home and family circumstances, your income and savings and any disabilities you and your family have. You can make an appointment to see the team at community venues across Trafford. Home visits are available for people who are unable to get out and about.
