Earlybirds @ St. Mary's

Earlybirds is the new name(since 2017) of St. Mary's Playgroup, which has been established for over 50 years and was registered with Ofsted in 1992.

We have the use of St. Mary's Church hall, toilets, kitchen facilities and car park during our opening hours.

From September 2023 the opening hours will be changing to 9.00am - 3.00pm on Mondays and 9.00am- 12.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays  (during Trafford term times). Please email or ring to check availability of places.

We offer a range of continuous provision for the children including maths, mark making, dough, sand, water, ICT, a library area, construction, small world, role play, physical and creative activities. The children also have access to a secure, enclosed outdoor play area and we have free flow of play whenever possible. We follow the EYFS seven areas of learning and development.

The children are allocated a Key Person before they start at Playgroup and we have a 'New Starter Session' at the start of the Autumn and Spring terms where the children and their parents can meet the staff. We have found that sessions help the children to settle in more easily and also allow the parents time to fill in the necessary paperwork and ask any questions they may have. All Key Persons are fully qualified Nursery Nurses and have many years of experience. Children can join us at the age of 2 and we also have a Pre-school Group for children who stay with us during their 'nursery' year which is led by our Early Years Teacher.
