Manchester Speech and Language
Manchester Speech and Language are a dedicated Secondary School service offering assessments and interventions for students from year 7 to Post 16. The service aims to support both families and schools who do not have access to a Secondary school service.
We assess, diagnose and support children with:
- Autism
- Learning difficulties (Eg: Dyslexia, global developmental delay)
- Developmental language disorder
- Selective mutism
- Emotional and behavioural difficulties
- ADHD
- PDA
We support schools, families and Local Authorities in finding the best resolution to support required for the young person.
We also offer training for school staff. This includes ELKLAN training and bespoke training to suit the schools needs. In addition to this, we offer services for access arrangements including Form 8 completion and Speech and Language reports to support access arrangement requests.

- Notes
We are based in the City centre for assessments, however we can travel to school and/or family home. For Secondary children we tend to work in schools, meeting parents on the premises. After an individual therapy plan has been devised, the therapists will work closely with families and schools to ensure the seemless transition and communication between both parties.
