Carol Burrage
I am a dedicated, experienced childminder, based in the Sale Moor area, zoned for Worthington Primary/Nursery School and have been looking after children from 6 months to 11 years for the last 15 years. I offer a warm and loving environment to support the development of each child and have an open and honest relationship with parents.
My large playroom is situated at the back of the house for privacy and incorporates a private toilet and wash basin. I have an extensive selection of toys suitable for all ages which are regularly rotated to support children’s imagination and learning. I ensure children feel happy and safe and follow their interest during play whilst working towards the national Early Learning Goals used by nurseries and schools.
Outside I have a large enclosed garden secured by locked gates. Children are able to run around freely or play on tricycles, scooters as well as jumping on the trampoline. I have a selection of outdoor toys including bats, balls and a water/sand table. There is a covered pond which is the habitat for goldfish, toads and frogs. Usually each year we are able to see the life cycle of toads and frogs which is an exciting time for children of all ages.
I feel it is important for young children to socialize with others and attend playgroups for pre-school children which includes free play, snack time and singing with a piano or a guitar. We also attend local parks, libraries and enjoy feeding the ducks or puddle jumping!
I believe knowledge is very important and in order to offer the best service in childcare I have achieved a BA (Hons) Early Childhood studies, L5 Foundation Degree in Early Years Studies, NVQ L3 and L4 in Childcare Learning and Development. I have a paediatric first-aid certificate which is renewed every 3 years and have attended regular safe-guarding courses, food safety and a number of other courses recommended by Trafford Early Years.
