Breastfeeding Support Group

Breastfeeding groups aim to support mothers in breastfeeding their babies for as long as they want to and to make choices that are best for them both. There is up to date information and advice on expressing breast milk, storage, going back to work, weaning, finishing feeding etc.

Most groups meet weekly in a comfortable relaxed environment. They provide opportunity to meet new people whilst getting support and encouragement from breast feeding peer counsellors. Most centres also have a midwife or health visitor available to talk to.

Please contact centre for session details.

Excellent for breastfeeding advice
The drop in service at the life centre is an excellent place to attend for any advice regarding any aspect of breastfeeding from advice whilst pregnant for hummus to be hoping to breastfeed, to new born feeding queries right through to feeding a toddler and beyond including tandem feeding.  It was my favourite baby group to go to when my son was a baby, to be able to comfortably socialise and breastfeed my baby and eat cake and drink tea was just amazing. I was fortunate enough to need very little advice regarding breastfeeding my son but I always felt welcome to attend the drop in and of course it was fantastic to be able to help, support and advise other new mums as required.  A lovely supportive, non judgemental baby group
