Who we are
We are qualified teachers with 25 years’ combined experience in Further & Community Education, teaching adults of all ages and abilities from Pre-Entry to Level 2 and mainly in Supported Learning. As such, we embed literacy and numeracy into all that we do
What we do
Our provision offers a wide variety of activities.
Learners have the option to work towards qualifications (subject to assessment) or further develop their independent living skills, healthy lifestyles awareness or work based skills.
This is acheived through our on site facilities (catering standard kitchen, large sprung dancefloor hall space and kitchen garden) plus community partnerships.
In partnership with the RVS (Royal Voluntary Service) learners run a weekly coffee morning and light lunch for the local elderly community. Learners cook and serve the food and are encouraged to develop their work based skills.
With Nordoff Robbins; the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, learners have performed in the hall for their family and friends and make music as a group every week.
Alongside The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), learners work outside; often at Sale Waterpark, to enhance their health, wellbeing and confidence through activities such as building bird boxes, planting trees, clearing paths and willow fence weaving.
Learners are supported and encouraged to work in supported employment. Our link with St Matthew's Nursery offers any learner who wants and is suitable for work experience to have the opportunity, whilst in a familiar and safe environment.
We also offer 'Introductory Food Hygiene' to facilitate 'work ready' access to the Food Industry.
Leisure activities include full days out, art and crafts, a weekly Yoga session plus swimming and cycling; subject to learner demand and ability.
