CRIS has been operating in Salford and Greater Manchester for 7 years, and was established to deliver Creative projects with the community as a means of supporting training, work placement and employment opportunities.
CRIS has delivered a wide range of projects in the last 7 years, working within the community and supporting other creative businesses to get established. These projects have supported over 1,000 people into creative opportunities, ranging from film to theatre and all points in between. Projects are varied from short to long term three year plans, and work with a wide range of beneficiaries from all walks of life. If you are interested in getting involved in our current projects, please have a look at our website to see what is on offer. Or perhaps you have an idea for a project and want some help to get it off the ground? Mail us and we can see what we can do to support you.
Some of this work has focused on small creative businesses getting support to establish themselves, look for funding and deliver their own projects. Predominantly we work with those most excluded from mainstream services and agencies, to provide an opportunity to improve self-confidence, and learn new skills.
This does not always mean that our participants go on to work in the sector, but develop key transferable skills that can support them to access other services, which can help them back into the mainstream, through education or employment.
We are a small team, and where possible will provide support if it is within our means, this is not always funded, but we are more than happy to share our expertise and skills if we can.
