Trafford Leisure project up date – further to the successful BALANCE project 2016/2017 we are happy to announce a follow up project to support families with children between the ages of 5 and 13 years. This programme is there to support children of all abilities and your family specialist referral lead will be there to support any needs you may have.
The new Family Activity Referral will support each family through 12 weeks of physical activity access at Trafford Leisure facilities and community activities across the borough.
We will have a new family specialist referral lead who will be liaising closely with the families and a direct link for you to discuss each referred family.
We urge you to communicate personally with the lead to add specifics that might not traditionally go on a form. Please update on any important updates that would be beneficial for the lead to know so they can support the families appropriately.
Where this programme differs from the BALANCE programme is that there will be no waiting list. The families will be seen within a week of first contact, each family will start their 12 week journey independently.
The 12 weeks will be free of charge for the family and children up to the age of 13 years. Due to criteria restrictions in the funding gained, those children over 13 years will be subject to a small weekly attendance fee or can be referred into the regular Physical Activity Referral Programme. As well as accessing the activities as a family unit at least once a week, family members will be able to, and encouraged to, use the facilities independently. We feel this independent training enables family members to achieve any personal goals or take some respite.
We are really excited about this new offer and we hope you are too. We’d love to come and speak to you (and the team) about this and answer any questions you may have ahead of launching in June. To arrange a meeting, please contact us on the details below:
