Trafford Sea Cadets (South)
Based on Bridgewater Retail Park on Manchester Road in Broadheath (Opposite Halfords) Sea Cadets Trafford (South) has a catchment area of Altrincham, Sale, Partington, Wythensahwe although anyone is free to apply regardless of home address.
Cadets are aged 9-18 and have the choice of Sea Cadets (following the traditions and customs of the Royal Navy) or the Royal Marines Cadets at this unit. Cadets Aged 9-11 can join the Junior Sea Cadets, Sea Cadets ages 12-18 and Royal Marines Cadets ages 13-18.
Cadet Training and Activities typircally cover (but is not limited to)
- Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze, Silver and Gold
- Adventure & Fieldcraft Training
- Shooting
- Rowing, Powerboating, Sailing, Windsurfing and Paddlesport.
- Engineering.
- Seamanship.
- Communications.
- Visits to Royal Navy Ships and Shore Establishments.
- Offshore Sailing and Power.
- Cadets also get full ceremonial uniform which they must look after and get to parade at local events such as the Altrincham Festival and RemembranceDay Parades.

We are totally inclusive, any young person can join although we may need to risk assess in some cases, we are recruiting adult volunteers on a continuous basis and applicants must pass a vigorous vetting scheme including enhanced DBS Checks - further information can be found on our national website sea-cadets.org
