Manchester Mavericks Wheelchair Basketball Team
The Mavericks Wheelchair Basketball team is located in the heart of Manchester in the Castlefield area of the City.
The team plays at the Castlefield Hotel and uses the Y Club Sports facilities. The Y club is steeped in tradition through the old YMCA in St Peter's Street that dates back to the start of the century. The Mavericks are now very much a part of the YMCA culture and thrive in its welcoming environment.
The club is made up of three National League Teams that play in the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball Association (GBWBA) National League. This includes a Senior team in Division 2, a Junior team playing in the GBWBA North League and a Women's team playing in the GBWBA North League.
The Mavericks are a team that have a philosophy to play hard, smart and have fun. Our priorities are family, school, work and wheelchair basketball.
We enjoy and encourage community engagement and work tirelessly to bring wheelchair basketball to the people of Greater Manchester.
