SEND Local Offer Advisor
The SEND local offer advisor can provide impartial information, advice and guidance to families who have children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The service is for families whose needs are likely to be met by universal and targeted services.
The advisor will help families to navigate the SEND Local Offer providing information, advice and guidance about services, activities and support available in the local area. The aim is to ensure the family receives the correct support for their needs.
The SEND local offer advisor will:
- Be the first point of call for families to help them navigate the SEND local offer; providing information and advice regarding childcare, short breaks, activities and services.
- Signpost parent/carers to local support groups or the wide range of specialist and mainstream activities/services available within the local offer.
- Support service providers to develop their accessibility and promote inclusion, ensuring accurate information about this is available on the SEND Local Offer website.
