Seashell Trust
Our charity is dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and adults with complex and severe learning disabilities which include little or no language abilities.
We are home to the Royal School Manchester, a non-maintained special school, and the Royal College Manchester, an independent specialist further education college. Both school and college are residential and cater for students from the age of 2 to 25. Students who attend our school and college are able to access on site residential and short break facilities. We also offer short break facilities to children and young people who do not have an education placement here at Seashell Trust.
A range of other services is also available to students including an all-inclusive sports facility, specialist therapy as well as staff with expertise in autism, multi-sensory impairments and behaviour management. Our award winning Seashell CADS (Children’s Able and Disabled Sports) programme provides inclusive weekly sports clubs and holiday activities throughout the year.
Across our school and college, and through the work we do beyond our own facilities, we deliver programmes of care that are individually tailored, promote independence and help build confidence and self-esteem in the children and young people we work with.
