Fiona Gardens (Extra care housing)

Fiona Gardens is ‘Extra Care’ facility, offering 71 prestigious apartments in central Sale predominantly for those aged 55 and over. This spacious independent living development offers greater freedom in a secure and private environment.

Fiona Gardens is named in memory of PC Fiona Bone who lived in Sale and was tragically killed whilst on duty in 2012. Fiona’s family were welcomed to the site to see the first brick laid and a collection of pink balloons released to mark the occasion. A commemorative stone, laid by Fiona’s family, has been placed at the entrance to the building to honour her bravery.

The scheme accomodates 71 spacious 1 and 2 bedroom appartments appartments. Our spacious and light apartments are all fully fitted with carpets and decorated throughout ready for you to add your final touches to make it your own. Each apartment gives you complete privacy and independence, yet our friendly communal spaces and open courtyard areas give you the opportunity to make new friends and socialise with your neighbours.  Each apartment is equipped with
the following:

  • Good quality, fitted kitchen
  • Stainless steel oven, hob and extractor
  • Level access shower/wet room
  • Warden call system
  • Underfloor heating throughout
  • Insulated to a high standard to ensure a high level of energy efficiency


Fiona Gardens facility promotes independent living for people with a variety of support or care needs and benefits from carers on site 24 hours a day to respond to emergency calls, there is also a scheme manager on site Monday to Friday.

Access to residential areas at Fiona Gardens is through a fob access system, which gives added security.  In addition CCTV is installed throughout the communal areas of the building. 


There is an enclosed garden area and central courtyard which has level access pathways and seating areas ideal for those long summer days.  All facilities at Fiona Gardens are level access and easily accessible for people with disabilities.

A reminisce room is also available to internal residents and external members of the community vested with an interest in catering to the needs of the elderly community more specifically those affected by the onset of dementia.*
