Target Community Cafe
We are a not for profit "pop up" community cafe based at Gorse Hill Methodist Church, Wesley Street, Stretford.
We provide home made meals that include; a home made soup, a vegetarian dish, a meat dish, Jacket potatoes with various fillings served with salad and homemade coleslaw plus cakes and desserts, unlimited beverages and guest singers, choirs, bands and massage therapists all for a donation that our customers can afford.
Our aim is to bring the community together and provide a hearty meal in a safe and happy environment. It is completely run by unpaid volunteers who include people with learning disabilities supported by their carers. We welcome new volunteers and full training is provided.
We have a play room available but we do ask parents to supervise their own children because all volunteers are required to run the cafe. People can ask to become a friend on our facebook page; targetcommunitycafe all requests are vetted prior to being accepted to protect the 430+ followers we already have.
We also provide a service to pick up and drop off the elderly members of our cafe who look forward to our or cafe and enjoy the food and the company the cafe provides. Our next cafe is on the 18 March and fortnightly thereafter.
