Junior Street Dance

This provides a great opportunity for children to take part in an extra-curricular activity outside of school. It helps them grow in confidence, learn a new skill, meet friends and be engaged in a structured activity in the evening, as opposed to watching TV or playing video games. This benfits parents because they have found their children have started behaving better from coming to this class and being committed.

We play fun games at the beginning, vocal warm ups, dance and drama games, learn dance routines, devise choreography, perform to each other and to parents. We also hold annual perfomances in our purpose built Theatre, for parents, friends and families, which the children rehearse for. We also put on festive parties for the children. Parents can leave their child for the hour or stay in the Atrium area and have a tea or coffee with the other parents.

We dont provide one to one support for children, but our therapy is through the dance itself. Any child who is struggling with low self esteem or bullying or just low self confidence, can come to this group and be encouraged by the teacher, the assistant and grow in confidence. We dont have any special criteria or hold auditions. All abilities are welcome.
