Our services support children, young people and adults with significant physical disabilities or with a profound and multiple learning disabilities, including autistic spectrum conditions.
Birtenshaw Children's Homes are specialist children's homes based mostly in adapted ordinary family houses in the local community. Our children's homes have been awarded Outstanding by Ofsted and offer children with complex health needs full time or shared care, which can be on a long term basis. This care is provided in a homely and safe environment, where staff encourage children and young adults in all aspects of positive activity.
Birtenshaw Positive Short Breaks are provided in our specially adapted building near our Head Office. The site has its own smallholding with a variety of small animals that children can learn how to care for, including chickens, goats and rabbits. There is an on-site gym and various other amenities to keep service users fully occupied and be involved in activities based within the community.
