Pendleton Sixth Form College, located in the heart of Salford, is a Centre of Academic Excellence that specialises in A-levels and Vocational courses.

The Ofsted rated 'Good' college prides itself on the outstanding results achieved year in and year out by their incredibly talented students. The college boasts a 100% Vocational pass rate and 99% A-level pass rate.

Ofsted: “The college has established a culture of high aspirations for student achievement. The high grades students achieve enable them to gain places at the most prestigious universities.”

Pendleton is home to a nationally acclaimed, Beacon Award-Winning Performing Arts Department, and has also been recognised nationally for their excellence in science. Their School of Creative Arts has a rich history of educating future artists and designers in preparation for a career in the creative industries.

The department has the most state-of-the-art facilities, helping prepare students for working life. Students have access to a range of specialist art rooms, 3D workshops, printmaking facilities, computer suites, industry and domestic sewing machines and dedicated base rooms and gallery spaces to allow development and the chance to exhibit work throughout the year.

A newly refurbished, contemporary design studio is also equipped with the latest industry software and colour printers, with additional photography labs supported by a lighting studio, infinity wall and darkroom facilities.

Pendleton’s space engineering course is one of only two in the country. It has been recognised by regional press as the only course in the North of England that is ‘skyrocketing’ aspirations and teaching young people in the local area that the sky isn’t actually the limit when it comes to their careers, but they can go beyond that. The course has been created by the National Space Academy and is funded by the National Space Centre and the UK Space Agency and aims to educate and inspire the next generation of astronauts.

Adding to their national success, the college has also won in the BTEC Science Student of the Year category at the National BTEC Awards by Pearson, on four occasions. In 2017, science student Maryam Taher, also won the Overall BTEC Student of the Year Award, a truly exceptional accolade.

The college's Centre of Excellence in Performing and Production Arts boasts an incredible track-record for progression, with students going on to study in top drama schools, conservatoires and universities. The department also prides itself on its incredible calibre of alumni, with former students having successful careers in TV, film, theatre and various other pathways.

Pendleton is also home to the all-famous Season of Shows. A series of industry standard, professionals shows performed by college students in the college's Eccleston and Ben Kingsley Theatres. To see more on these please click here

Aside from their extraordinarily successful curriculum offer, the college also takes a great deal of pride in it's extra-curricular offer, exceptional learning support, and the safe and secure environment it provides for its students.

From their expert teaching staff, who are superb at what they do, to the additional support offered to students to maximise their learning experience - the student is at the heart of all the college does.

At Pendleton, a safe, secure and welcoming environment has been created, and it will become a student's world for the two years they spend there. They will socialise at college, learn at college, grow as an individual, and will want to get involved in as many societies and activities as possible to make the most of your time there.
