Cycling is a low cost and practical way of getting to work, especially where shifts or location rule public transport out. If you’re a jobseeker, we can help you Bike Back to Work by offering a range of support, including a free recycled bike, cycle training and bike maintenance courses.

So how do you get involved?
Talk to your Jobcentre Plus advisor. They have all the details of how to apply for a recycled bike, and can check if you eligible.

Then it’s simply the case of filling in an application form and returning it to TfGM. If you are successful, you’ll be matched with one of our recycling partners and your new bike. Even better, bikes will be supplied with accessories and safety equipment such as lights and helmets. In addition, you’ll also be offered free cycle and basic maintenance training.

How will I receive my recycled bike?
If your application is successful, the team at TfGM will give you contact details of one of the bike recycling companies we’re working with so you can organise collection of your bike.  As part of the scheme you will also receive a helmet, lock, pair of lights and high visibility jacket.

What happens after I receive my recycled bike and accessories?
The team at TfGM will contact you three months after you have received your recycled bike to complete an evaluation of the scheme and the usefulness of the bike in sustaining your new job.

What happens after I complete my three month evaluation?
Upon completion of the three month evaluation, the recycled bike will be yours to keep.
