The workshop was opened by very special guest, Roy Cavanagh MBE, from Seddon. Roy shared a few words in support of the new training facilities, he said:  “The motor vehicle workshop is a real, major plus for Salford as it’s vital that young people get proper training, and these facilities will help give them a real chance.

Staff are incredibly supportive and work with students to ensure that they develop not only practical skills required for industry but also employability and life skills.

Students are given the opportunity to participate in work experience placements, competitions and a wide variety of trips and visits that both broaden their knowledge and develop their confidence in their chosen field.

For example, this year students attended the NEC Construction Trade Fair, providing them with important networking opportunities, and Worcester Bosch, for exclusive training on gas boilers.
