Hi, I'm Sally and I am an Early Years Teacher and Ofsted registered Childminder. I work alongside my husband, Nigel, who is registered with Ofsted as my assistant.  We live with our two sons who are aged 13 and 15 years and we have a pet cat and a small dog.

In our home the children have access to indoor and outdoor play throughout the year. We have many resources which are well organised, varied and reflective of the children in our care. We are great supporters of using the outdoor environment and have a fully enclosed garden which is large enough for physical activity as well as gardening, nature study and role play! We are members of The National Trust, Chester Zoo, Knowsley Safari Park and The Blue Planet. We also like visiting the beach, forests, river walks, museums, galleries and anywhere that will enhance the children's learning and development.  We believe in enriching children's experiences by going on many outings to different places to learn about our wider world.

We provide the children with mid-morning snack, lunch (hot meal or packed lunch dependent on activities/outings) and a 'substantial' afternoon snack to last to evening meals at home. We take into consideration any dietary requirements and preferences. 

I have been working within the early years sector for many years. I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2007. I received an overall rating of 'Outstanding' in both my Ofsted inspections in 2008 and 2011. I am also a Quality Assured Network Childminder who is accredited by Trafford to provide funded early years education for 2-5 year olds. I have a first class honours degree in early years education and am a certified Early Years Teacher.

Nigel joined the team in 2014 and has accessed many training courses to develop his knowledge in Early Years Education.

We both hold fully enhanced DBS certificates along with up to date Safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications.

We also work alongside my Ofsted registered assistant Janice Blair with whom we run The Ark Toddler sessions two days a week and The Ark Play Group on two days a week, both held at Timperley Methodist Church. All early years children within our care have the opportunity to attend these sessions which offer a more structured approach to learning. It is also good to help develop social skills and can help children with  the transition into nursery education.
