Jess Acton

I am a Ofsted registered childminder with 16 years experience of working with children. I have a degree in childcare and education and I received 'Good' in my last ofsted inspection. I am experienced in the care of children from birth to 12 years and have worked with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework to observe and support the development of children in the early years. 

I offer a home from home setting with flexibility to suit all ages and stages of development. I have a garden area for the children to play in which includes a slide, see saw and scooters as well as mark making areas and waterspouts and funnels for water play. 

I use the children's interests and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework to plan and develop a variety of activities. During the day we visit different places in the community including play groups, rhyme time and the library and during school holidays we visit other places of interest eg Dunham Massey, Smithills farm and Heaton park. 

I attend regular training programmes with Trafford council for my continuous professional development. I also have up to date certificates in first aid, safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessment. 

I work with an assistant who also attends regular training programmes and has up to date First Aid and Safeguarding certificate. My assistant also has a childcare and eduaction qualification (level 2) and has been working with me for 5 years now, she has excellent communication skills with the children and enjoys planning and carrying out daily activities with them.

My fees include all outing and playgroup costs. I provide 2 meals a day, breakfast at 8.00am and lunch at 12.30pm and then a snack tea at 4pm which are also included in the fees.
