Education, Health and Care (EHC) Assessment Team

The Education, Health and Care Assessment Team is made up of 6 Education, Health and Care (EHC) Coordinators. We manage the EHC assessment process in accordance the Children & Families Act 2014.

The EHC Coordinators manage the process for new EHC assessments and also for converting Statements of Special Educational Needs into Education, Health and Care Plans.

All children and young people who have previously been the subject of Statutory Assessment will have an Education, Health and Care Plan in place by April 2018.

EHC Coordinators are responsible for managing a group of schools in their area. You can download the list to see which schools are allocated to each EHC Coordinator and how to contact them.

There is one EHC Coordinator for each of the North, South and West areas of Trafford. The North area Coordinator also covers independent schools and out of borough schools.

Another EHC Coordinator is responsible for preschool children and for the management of Pictor School. This role also covers nursery classes in independent schools.

In addition there are two EHC Coordinators who have been involved in the Pathfinder Project in Trafford. This means they have been trialling approaches to Education, Health and Care Plans. Initially, they will be acting in a supportive capacity to the other members of the SEN Assessment Team so we all benefit from their experience.

The structure of our team will be reviewed at the end of October 2014. It will take into account our early experience of doing Education, Health and Care Plans.
