Trafford's Employment Support Tool
Our tool helps you identify what support is available at each of the five stages to getting and keeping a job. Blue Orchid can support people at stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. If you have come here from the support tool please see below for details of how we can support you at these stages.
Stage 1: Believing you can work
Blue Orchid works closely with clients who have been referred to develop their ideas into a working business. Some people may have debt, or other issues, that need to be resolved prior to trading. We deliver awareness raising sessions in community settings to let people know of our support opportunity for people who want to start up their own business.
Stage 2: Help to work out what you can do
We offer coaching, mentoring and training to help take the business idea forwards towards the business start.
Stage 3: Help to find a job
We work with clients to ascertain the need for the service and / or product as well as work to establish the local market for their business idea.
Stage 4: Getting the job
We support clients to soft market test their services and / or product and work on the results to help develop the finished product. We support clients to develop business plans and make application for funding.
We support with final arrangements prior to business trading start, including HMRC registration, insurance and compliance.
We ensure that the client can represent themselves and their business in the most appropriate way. Clients are shown how to present themselves in a 2 minute presentation (getting across the key points of their business or service).
Mentoring continues once trading has started and help is offered with any start up problems.
Stage 5: Keeping that job
Mentoring support continues throughout the first 12 months of trading. Clients can access a range of skills workshops (e.g. Book Keeping, HMRC registration, cash flow).
Clients are also invited to the Trafford Network, so that they can meet and work collaboratively with other business start-ups in Trafford. The Network is held monthly at various locations in Trafford.
