Flixton Band
Flixton Band maintains a proud tradition of music making, which dates back over 125 years. The Band is currently graded first section by the National Brass Band Association of Great Britain, the highest of any Trafford Band. Flixton Band is currently self-funding and does not benefit from sponsorship.

Flixton village, originally founded by a Viking called 'Flikke', has previously been spelt as Fleece-Town, Fflxton, Fluxton and Flyxton. It is a small suburb 6 miles from the centre of Manchester in the Borough of Trafford. The Band has been a part of Flixton's history since 1877. Read about the history of the band
