We are taking appointments throughout the summer into the Autumn, offering long term holistic debt counselling in Altrincham and Partington. There is also a CAP Debt Centre in Sale. Due to COVID-19, our face to face service model has had to be adapted for the short term and so we are offering telephone or virtual meet-ups. We hope that in the near future we may be able to begin to see clients again face to face.
We anticipate that as the COVID-19 support systems come to an end in the next couple of months regarding Council Tax payment holidays, renters' protection, payment holidays and the re-start of enforcement agent visits, there will be a wave of debt help needed for those who have been hit hardest by the crisis.
If you are in debt, you've come to the right place. Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a charity that gives free debt help to anyone in debt. Thousands of people have already been given hope and a solution.
CAP will help anyone regardless of their age, gender, faith or background.
The service is really in-depth and long term. Clients are visited in their homes. We contact all the creditors on behalf of the client and negotiate with them, working out a way forward for each person. We deal with the banks, councils, credit card companies and payday loan companies every day, gaining their respect. We then support clients as they work their way out of debt, or if the amount is too large, offer insolvency options.
The Altrincham centre covers clients in the WA14, WA15 and M31 postcodes. The centre is based at The Hub Community Centre, Pownall Road, Altrincham, WA14 2SZ. There are other centres covering other areas- please refer to the CAP website www.capuk.org for details.
A weekly DropIn for potential new clients and current clients with free lunch provided runs each Monday term time only 12.00-1.00pm
