The Toy House Stay and Play, Toy Loans, Private Groups, Support/Advice, Volunteering Opportunities
The Toy House offers an inclusive play environment where parents or carers can relax while the children play with our wide selection of toys, many of which specifically meet the needs of our disabled visitors. We also offer a supportive listening ear to all families, carers and professionals.
We run two Parent and Baby Sensory Sessions on Tuesday and Friday morning 9.30 - 11 cost £5 which includes a cuppa and cake for the adult.
On Wednesday and Thursday we run Stay and Play from 9.30 - 11.30 £5 ... includes a cuppa for the adult and a snack for adult and child.
Wednesday 1-3 we run Social Walks where a small group meet and go for a short/long walk depending on who is attednding. We meet back at The Toy House for a cuppa and cake. Small charge for refreshments.
We have a wonderful Sensory Room where our visitors can relax and unwind.
We offer Person Centred Volunteering opportunities to disabled people who need a sensitive, nurturing environment. Monday is dedicated to running our Social Enterprise Scheme where the volunteers work with supporters to create masterpieces, cards and crafts etc that we will advertise for sale.
On Thursday afternoon 1-3 we host Cream Tea Session where we welcome anyone who would like to attend. This session is also suitable for people with dementia and their carers.
Friday morning we have a group specifically for families with twins. They have the opportunity to meet other families in their position and share their experiences with people who understand.

At the front of the property there is a ramp for easy access for buggies and wheelchairs. There is also easy access to the rear of the property and a covered area to store buggies. There is a lift to the first floor. There is an accessible toilet and a changing bed. Braille signage throughout.
