The pass can be used anywhere in England between 9.30am and midnight, Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and public holidays. If you travel before 9.30am you will be charged the normal fare.
Who can get one?
Everyone who lives in Greater Manchester and qualifies for a state pension is eligible for a pass.
Women born between 6 October 1953 and 5 November 1954 can apply for a Women’s Concessionary Travel pass.
The pass lasts for five years.
The pass is a smart card and users must 'touch in' at the start and end of a bus or Metrolink journey.
What about people who live outside Greater Manchester?
People living outside Greater Manchester can apply for a pass in their own area, but passes issued by other areas are not valid on rail and Metrolink in Greater Manchester.
