    Working with families and individuals:

Our open-door policy and holistic approach ensures our service is available when our community needs us.

Working with families and individuals we offer crisis support directly, or as a partner in a multi-agency setting - providing much needed breaks away or arranging alternative accommodation during particularly difficult times. Our service is available 24/7.

It's not just on the ground services, we also work with many other agencies for the greater gain of our community.

    Working with local groups:

The G-Force support network helps promote and develop the services of local groups, providing crucial on the ground knowledge or drawing in extra support from other agencies. Our minibus is also available to local groups, providing a valuable resource and bringing a real benefit to those who use it. If you have any worries we are here to help, we distribute food vouchers, toys at Christmas and can refer you for debt counselling.

Learning through Art is more than an Art club; it is not just about the final product (although there will always be something amazing to show) it is about the journey to that point, using the creative process as a learning tool.

Classes are designed by an experienced Primary Teacher to encourage children’s creativity, raise self-esteem and develop knowledge and understanding across the curriculum, whilst having fun. Learning through Art gives structure, guidance and purpose to children’s natural curiosity and desire to learn and understand. It teaches them how to become independent learners using Art as their tool.

Around one in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training. Youth unemployment costs the UK economy £10 million a day in lost productivity, while youth crime costs £1 billion every year.

We address this by giving practical and financial support to the young people who need it most. We help develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education or training.

    Programmes to support young people

We run programmes that encourage young people to take responsibility for themselves – helping them build the life they choose rather than the one they’ve ended up with:

    • The Enterprise programme provides money and support to help young people start up in business.
    • The Team programme is a 12-week personal development course, offering work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week.
    • Get Started are short courses designed to help young people develop new skills, build confidence and have fun, helping them to move forwards in their lives.
    • Get into are short courses offering intensive training and experience in a specific sector to help young people get a job.
    • Development Awards are small grants to enable young people to access education, training or work.
    • Prince's Trust xl clubs give 13-19 year olds who are at risk of truanting, exclusion and underachievement a say in their education. They aim to improve attendance, motivation and social skills.
    • The Fairbridge programme works with young people aged 13-25, giving them the motivation, self-confidence and skills they need to change their lives.

We also have Job Ambassadors who have been in the young person's position and which can help you with advice, guidance and inspiration.

Are you a young person interested in joining a programme?

It’s great that you’re interested in getting involved. There are various ways of getting in touch:

    • If you’re unsure which course or programme would suit you best, you can call 0800 842842, to speak to one of our Prince's Trust advisors. They can help by pointing you in the right direction.
    • If you’re an unemployed young person aged 13-25 and interested in joining the Fairbridge programme, please call or email your local Prince’s Trust centre, or drop in to the centre for more information. You can find the address and contact details for our 16 centres on our Prince's Trust centre pages on our website.
    • For all other programmes you can contact us through the Enquiry form on our website, and we will get in touch with you.

Do you know a young person who will benefit from joining a programme?

If you're a parent, guardian or from a statutory/voluntary organisation (such as schools, housing services and hostels, youth offending teams, CAMHS, youth and social services), you can refer a young person to The Prince's Trust.

    The Fairbridge programme

To refer a young person to the Fairbridge programme you will need to email a referral form to the relevant contact at the young person’s nearest centre. You can find the address and contact details for our 16 centres on our Prince's Trust centre pages on our website.

A form should be completed for every young person referred to the programme, and is compulsory for young people with an unspent conviction.

Get Started / Get Into courses

To refer a young person to a Get Started or Get into course please fill in a referral form (below). The form should be completed for every young person referred to these courses, and is compulsory for young people with an unspent conviction.

    Who are we?

Sport Works supports children/young people with a range of disabilities including; Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Physical and Mental Learning Difficulties, Autism and Social Interaction Difficulties. Generally these children/young people enjoy sports and games but often have particular difficulties with balance, coordination, social and communication skills and often find it difficult to take part.

At Partington Sports Village we provide 2 hour weekly sessions for disabled young people aged 4-25 years. Each session will be split into 2 x 1 hour periods, 1 hour in the sports hall and 1 hour in the swimming pool.  We offer a range of physical activities designed to develop basic skills, increasing activity in a fun/social environment and ensure these young people receive individualised support within a non-threatening, inclusive environment.

We also attempt to reduce the burden on families who need to find activities for their children outside of education and allow young people to benefit from meeting new people and trying new things.

More about Gorse Hill Studios Creative Community

Gorse Hill Studios (GHS) is an independently-run charity, established in 2015 and gaining charitable status in 2017 after previously being part of Trafford MBC for 16 years.

We deliver services from a thriving youth arts centre based in the North of Trafford as well as outreach settings with specific contracts with key Local Authorities, Schools and Commissioning Groups, as well as working in partnership with several youth organisations.

The charity provides free/low cost, high quality, accessible and responsive services to young people between the ages of 8 and 25. GHSCC provides a mixture of arts, music and youth services to over 200 young people each week. The charity also has particular experience and a reputation for expertise in working with young people with additional needs or those struggling with mainstream education, incorporating arts and creativity which generate a wealth of positive impacts.

To achieve its overall aims, the charity encourages and supports young people to have a voice in the organisation, and commits to offering a range of interventions and activities, providing a menu of support and choice that responds to needs not met elsewhere.

Accreditation options are combined with opportunities for young people to learn, develop new skills, be creative, have fun and demonstrate to themselves and others that they have the skills, tools and social capital to be resilient and reach their full potential.

    Our Key Activities are

    • A link to creative industries
    • Developing career aspirations and pathways
    • A provider of alternative education for those excluded from school offering intensive intervention
    • A social action programme
    • A specialist provider in delivering support to young people with additional needs
    • Accessible resource for young people to engage in creative arts programmes
    • A safe, welcoming place for young people to receive advice and information
    • Collaboration with partners
