Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
Trafford Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) - Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (mft.nhs.uk) provides emotional and mental health assessment and treatment to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families and carers. We offer support to professionals such as school staff, GP’s and school nurses who are working with children and young people within Trafford.
We are part of a wider comprehensive network working to the THRIVE Model (THRIVE Framework (annafreud.org)). Helping to promote the importance of good mental health and ensure CAMHS is everyone’s business. We work closely with our partner agencies including Just Psychology, 42nd St, Early Help Services, Talkshop and Children’s Social Care. As a multiagency network we can offer support in lots of different ways to make sure there is something suitable for everyone. We can also signpost and help you access other types of help within the THRIVE Model.
The CAMHS team comprises of child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, specialist nurses, systemic family therapists, social workers, and other specialist therapists. Children and young people experiencing a range of mental health disorders will be assessed by a member of the team and, together with family and carers, a treatment care plan will be agreed.
